For firmer, more youthful looking skin, Stillwater Plastic Surgery introduces SkinTyte by Sciton. Based on the principle of selective thermolysis and using the award-winning Sciton laser's BBL pulsed light technology, SkinTyte is a non-invasive procedure that requires no downtime. SkinTyte is recommended for patients who desire moderate, yet noticeable improvement and tightening of their skin without having to undergo surgery. The SkinTyte laser deeply heats dermal collagen, a process that promotes partial denaturation and contraction of collagen. The heat also initiates the body's natural healing process which encourages new production of natural collagen resulting in firmer skin. The powerful cooling mechanism on the SkinTyte laser maintains the outer surface of your skin at a cool temperature throughout the treatments, making it a comfortable procedure, unlike prior generations of lasers. During the treatment, a series of pulsed lights from this laser are passed over the skin. The face and neck can typically be treated within 30 minutes, and a series of three treatments spaced 4 weeks apart are needed. Temporary redness and/or swelling are possible side effects, and typically disappear within a couple hours, but may last up to 48 hours. There is no skin peeling and you can wear makeup immediately after treatment. SkinTyte can be combined with other treatments, such as customized facials or broadband light photofacials in the same day to achieve the most effective results possible. Full results can take up to six months as the collagen builds and is strengthened in the skin through the series of treatments.
